Fall colors have changed to winter ones in this image, acquired by the MODIS on the Terra satellite on November 24, 2006.
This image shows some of the eastern US states, from Virginia and Maryland at the bottom of the image, continuing up to Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and the rest of New England. Parts of Ontario and Quebec, Canada can also be seen in the top half of the image.
A few of the Great Lakes are showing as well, including Lake Erie (the lower one, off Pennsylvania and Ohio) and Lake Ontario (the upper one bordering Ontario and New York). Part of Lake Huron is on the left edge of the image.
