Volga River Delta

Where the Volga River flows into the Caspian Sea, it creates an extensive delta. The Volga Delta is comprised of more than 500 channels and sustains the most productive fishing grounds in Eurasia. This image was acquired by Landsat 7's Enhanced Thematic Mapper plus (ETM+) sensor on August 29, 1999. This is a false-color composite image made using shortwave infrared, infrared, and red wavelengths.
