Diesel Theft a Growing Problem

DID you know there are diesel burglars in our backyards? We are now starting to see the impact of increased living costs.
Over the past four weeks we had been measuring the amount of diesel being used to heat our home on a daily basis and it was proving to be very economic. Until the following morning when the tank was dry, the lid was left off, after somebody siphoned the entire tank.
With petrol and diesel being a similar price no wonder some owners of diesel vehicles are now resorting to stealing fuel. (Diesel is $1.91 while petrol is $2.18 a litre.) Yesterday, while buying new diesel, our friendly attendant made a comment to the fact "there is an increasing number of other home owners with tanks losing huge litres of diesel to thieves" .
It would be interesting to hear from other home owners who have experienced the same loss.
