GreatSchools Launches Nationwide Preschool Finder

GreatSchools, an independent nonprofit that empowers parents to support their children's educational success, today announced the launch of its national preschool finder service.

Building on its decade-long service of enabling parents to find the right K-12 schools for their children, GreatSchools now gives parents the power to start their children off on the right path sooner by finding the right preschool.

"Finding the right preschool is one of the most daunting tasks for a new parent - GreatSchools is here to help," said former teacher and GreatSchools' Founder and President Bill Jackson. "GreatSchools is proud to empower parents with the resources to support their children's educational success at the earliest and most critical stage."

With GreatSchools, parents can now find information on nearly 100,000 preschools throughout the country, expert information about how to choose a preschool and in-depth information about particular preschools at www.greatschools.org. Parents can go online and search for preschools near their address or in their city. They can then find out basic information including how big the school is, what ages it serves, if it has any special emphasis or particular teaching philosophy and more information about each school.

CONNECTING PARENTS WITH EACH OTHER

GreatSchools also offers parents powerful Web 2.0 features to rate and review preschools throughout the country and to connect and share stories with other families. As part of the preschools launch, GreatSchools is mobilizing its entire member base to rate and review their children's preschools so that other parents can benefit from the in-depth information.
