U.S. comedian Seth Meyers has directed and stars in The Line, an original comedy Web series to debut on Crackle.com, Crackle Inc. announced Wednesday.
Produced by Broadway Video, the seven-episode series co-stars Bill Hader and Simon Rich, who, along with Meyers, are Saturday Night Live players.
The Web series is about two friends, Josh (Hader) and Duffy (Joe Lo Truglio from Superbad,) as they score the coveted first spot in line outside of a movie theater, 11days prior to the world premiere of one of the summer's most highly anticipated films, 'Future Space,' Crackle Inc. said in a press release.
The comedy webisodes are sponsored by Sony Pictures, the company that owns Crackle.com.
In keeping with the short show's movie theme, the studio has integrated three real-life Columbia Pictures releases -- Step Brothers, Pineapple Express and The House Bunny -- into the webisodes.
The three films are incorporated into the series through organic character integrations and film poster and T-shirt placements, Crackle Inc. said.
Hader and Lo Truglio both also co-star in Pineapple Express.
