Hypertherm, the world leader in plasma cutting technology, today announced its proud support of the 26th Annual Prouty Century Bike Ride & Challenge Walk. This year's event takes place on Saturday, July 14 at the Richmond Middle School in Hanover, New Hampshire.
Hypertherm is sponsoring the event through a $25,000 donation at the platinum level. In addition, 46 Hypertherm associates are making a personal commitment to the Prouty by participating on the Hypertherm team. They will bike or walk one of the Prouty routes. So far, Team Hypertherm has combined to raise more than $15,000.
The Prouty supports the Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. The Norris Cotton Cancer Center is one of the nation's premier facilities for cancer treatment and research. It is one of only 39 Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States as designated by the National Cancer Institute, and is rated by USNews & World Report as one of the top 50 hospitals for cancer care nationally.
"Cancer affects the life of most every American," said Barbara Couch, Hypertherm's vice president of human resources. "It is estimated that one third of all Americans will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime. Hypertherm is proud to support an organization that offers hope to the thousands of Northern New England residents currently living with the disease."
"Last year, The Prouty raised a record-breaking $1.25 million. This year our goal is $1.5 million." said Jean Brown, executive director of the Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center. "We are extremely grateful to Hypertherm and its associates for the work they do year after year in support of the Prouty."
The Prouty Century Bike Ride & Challenge Walk is the signature event of the Friends of the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, a group dedicated to supporting cancer research and patient services at Dartmouth's Norris Cotton Cancer Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
