A couple have been charged with using burglary and structural damage to get rid of tenants in a small San Francisco apartment building they own.
Kip and Nicole Macy were arrested Tuesday, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. The charges include stalking, burglary and conspiracy.
The couple, who have addresses in Sausalito, Calif., across the bay from San Francisco, and in Incline, Nev., bought the six-unit building in 2005. At the time, the building had five tenants, and the Macys allegedly began trying to evict them.
When Scott Morrow waged a successful court fight, the Macys allegedly had the beams supporting his floor cut and had their employees saw a hole in the floor. They also allegedly cut off his electricity and phone service.
Another tenant, Erik Hernandez, said he came home and found Kip Macy damaging his furniture.
Hernandez and Jason Lopez also accuse the couple of stealing $2,000 in cash and a Gucci watch.
