'Harry Potter' at Center of Legal Battle

U.S. director John Buechler is in a legal battle with Hollywood giant Warner Bros. regarding his claim he created the famed Harry Potter character.
Buechler had featured a character named Harry Potter Jr. in his 1986 film Troll and when he began planning a remake of the film, he was informed by Warner Bros. that the studio would defend its rights to the popular name, The Mail on Sunday reported.
Hollywood producer Peter Davy, who is partnering with Buechler on the Troll remake, said the director is convinced he created author J.K. Rowling's famous character.
J.K. Rowling says the idea just came to her. John doesn't think so, Davy said.
There are a lot of similarities between the theme of her books and the original 'Troll.'
Rowling has denied such claims and a Warner Bros. spokesman issued a very unsubtle warning to the cinematic pair Saturday.
If these producers intend to remake 'Troll' they'd better tread carefully not to infringe on our rights, spokesman Scott Rowe said.
