How To Obtain and Equip Artifacts in Genshin Impact

Artifacts are equipment used to increase character stats. Aside from weapon equipment’s, the perfect combination of artifacts can make any hero stronger. There are 5 types of artifacts. Flower of Life, Plume of Death, Sands of Eon, Goblet of Eonothem and Circlet of Logos. Only one of each type can be equipped on a character at a time.

Artifacts contain a main stat along with up to 4 minor, secondary stats. These stat bonuses greatly increase the character’s attributes. The Flower of Life and Plume of Death can only come with a specific main stat. Other types may come with multiple main stats.

Acquiring Artifacts

Artifacts are obtained in many ways, Exploring around Teyvat, Investigating spots, opening Chests, Defeating Elite Enemies and Bosses, Claiming Rewards from Petrified Trees in Domains of Blessing, and acquiring Chamber Rewards inside Spiral Abyss.

These items have 1-5 Star Rarity. Artifact Rarity drop is also dependent on the level of Domain you are entering. To equip artifacts you:

  1. Press C to open the character window.
  2. Select Artifacts.
  3. There are five orbs with different markings circling around your character. Click each of them.
  4. On the selection pane, Choose the artifact you wish to equip your character and click Equip.
  5. Click X to exit and complete the process.

Enhancing Artifacts

Like the weapons, artifacts are also upgradable gears in Genshin Impact. Every increment in level also provides added stat bonus. These bonuses often make the difference, with healing dishes aside, between succeeding and failing during elite enemies and boss fights.

To do this:

  1. Press C to open character window.
  2. Select Artifacts.
  3. There are five orbs with different markings circling around your character. Click each of them.
  4. On the selection pane, Choose the artifact you wish to equip your character and click Enhance.
  5. On the bottom right of the Enhance window, click Auto Add or manually add Enhancement Materials.(Tip: You may also choose the rarity of the Enhancement Materials to be used.)
  6. Click Enhance.
  7. Once done, click Confirm to complete the process.

Make sure to check the main, secondary and bonus stats that your artifacts have and may provide. Some of your characters may very well benefit from these to further increase their capacity in taking down tougher enemies.
